Elected Officials

 

The Township is governed by three elected Trustees and an elected Fiscal Officer who oversees the Township’s finances.

Don Ritzenthaler and his wife, Ellie, have lived in Huron Township for the past 24 years after moving from the City of Huron. They have four children who were born and raised in Huron. Don became a Trustee in 1992 and has held that position ever since. He is actively involved in the community and is a member of Northern Ohio Rural Water, the Erie Regional Planning Commission, the Huron Joint Recreation Committee, the Huron Chamber of Commerce, the Erie County Township Association, the Huron Township Conservation Club, and St. Peters Church. Don loves this area, especially boating and fishing in Lake Erie.

Robert Boos was born and raised in Huron Township and is the owner and operator of Boos Farms. His wife, Linda, was also born in Huron Township and both are graduates of Huron High School. They are the parents of four children. He was first elected as a Trustee in 1983 and has held that position since. He is an active member of Farm Bureau, Ohio Township Trustees Association, Erie County Township Trustees Association, and he has been a lifelong member of the Huron Methodist Church.

Edward Enderle was born, raised, and has been a life long resident of Huron. His father, Edward, retired as a Trustee in 1996 and Ed decided to follow in his father’s footsteps as a Trustee. He was elected and has held that position since. He married his wife, Tracy, and they have two sons. He is a partner in Enderle Family Farm. He works fulltime at PBOSG (NASA support) as a Mechanical Engineer Technician and is an active Republican. He is also involved as a Youth Leader at Milan Friends Church, Charter member of Firelands Habitat for Humanity, Ohio Farm Bureau, Ohio Township Association, and the Erie County Township Trustee Association.

Diane was born in Columbus, Ohio moving to Huron Township in 1998 with her family.  She was appointed to the office of Fiscal Officer in December 2002, elected for her first term in November 2003 and re-elected in 2007. Diane’s husband John has been the senior pastor of New Life Church in Sandusky for 13 years, where she is also actively involved in the ministry. Diane and John have three sons all graduates of Huron High School. She loves gardening, and helping people in their congregation grow in their faith.
